Nebraska Public Transit Week logo

Another successful Nebraska Public Transit Week for the books! NPTW 2021 was held April 11-17. This year looked a little different due to COVID-19, but we were still able to meet both goals set this year. The goals included increasing the number of 5311 agencies participating in NPTW activities and 50 individuals signing the online Pledge to Ride Transit. NPTW 2021 had 42 transit agencies participate in some capacity and 109 pledge signers.

Other statewide events included the photo contest held via Facebook and the Trivia Game held online. Four agencies participated in the photo contest where Facebook users voted by “liking” their favorite picture. In the end, Midland Public Transit won with over 50 votes for their “Rock n’ Roll” themed picture. Due to an unforeseen circumstance, the Trivia game had to be adjusted the week before NPTW to a different format. Instead of hosting trivia with an emcee via Zoom during specific timeframes, trivia was moved to an online platform that allowed people to complete it as their schedules allowed over the course of the week. Overall, 37 individuals participated in the Trivia Game.

We appreciate everyone who attended the Lunch and Learn Q&A sessions leading up to NPTW and providing us with additional planning insights, as well as everyone who took the time to complete the post-event survey. We are looking forward to taking some of that feedback into the planning stages of Nebraska Public Transit Week 2022.
