January 5, 2024
The Nebraska Safety Center (NSC) has released the dates and times for the driver training courses offered in 2024 for eligible drivers hired by a Nebraska transit agency receiving 5310 or 5311 funding from the Nebraska Department of Transportation. View the schedule.
NSC hired an additional trainer, Ron Wall, to be able to offer more courses in the western part of the state. On the schedule, those courses can be found in green text. Please note, times for courses during Roadeo are in orange text as they are significantly different from the rest of the calendar.
There are still some courses with dates or the specific course yet to be determined. Check the calendar on the Nebraska Public Transit website often for updates to the 2024 schedule.
About Ron Wall
Ron was born and raised in the small community of Huntington, Indiana, 23 miles southwest of Fort Wayne. After high school he attended Vincennes University studying conservation law in southern Indiana. After college he entered the U.S. Army in 1982 as a military policeman. He can’t say enough about the military, except that the military treated him well – touring the world for 21 years, experiencing the big cities of Europe to the small villages in the jungles of Belize. Ron retired from the military in 2004 and settled down with his wife, Dee Dee, in Kimball, Nebraska. He began an exciting sales career with Cabela’s for 10 years. After departing Cabela’s he worked for Frenchman Valley Cooperative (FVC) in Pine Bluffs, Wyoming. He was called by the HR manager of Kimball County offering a startup position with KCTS in May 2018. He enjoyed being a part of KCTS for over five and a half years. Now, Ron is starting a new journey with the Nebraska Safety Center as a rural transit trainer.
