Trip planning simply means a traveler is able to identify travel options between two or more points, and a trip planner is a tool that makes this more possible. You have probably used a map app on your phone to get directions or to see how long it will take you to get to a destination. When you do this, there are typically options for getting there by car, or bicycle, or walking. Depending where you are and where you are going, you might see public transportation, taxi services, and TNCs like Lyft and Uber.
As people rely more and more on mobile technology for planning how they get from A to B, we want them to see and use your rural public transit service as one of their options. To that end, in the coming months, the Mobility Management team will be verifying and updating agency data, working with agencies who do not have a web presence (website or Facebook), and starting a small pilot with a limited number of agencies. I hope you are as excited as we are to take this next step in visibility and convenience for riders in Nebraska.
