Video Series to Create Awareness of Available Services

The University of Nebraska at Omaha Center for Public Affairs Research has launched a new video series called Faces of Transit in Nebraska. The hope is to create some feel-good stories about transit agencies doing new things, expanding transit dollars to go new places, exploring who the agency serves, and where they take their passengers, so others understand how the service works.

UNO CPAR is partnering with Kate Littrel from White Shutter Media to capture video footage and develop the short 1-3 minute videos. The plan is to highlight a couple transit agencies in each region and then expand out to more agencies as these are completed.

The videos will be shared with the agency to use on their website and social media to encourage everyone to utilize their transit service. Nebraska Public Transit will also use the videos on social media and will eventually combine parts of the short videos to create a longer promotional video.

If you were contacted by Kate recently and have not replied back to her, but would still like to participate, please reply to let her know you are interested. She is excited to visit and record footage in as many of the service areas as she can.

Managers, dispatchers, drivers, and any other employees and especially passengers are encouraged to take part in the recording as each person plays an important role in the transit story of each agency.

Watch the first two completed videos:

Look for videos from Midland Public Transit and Valley County Transit System to be added soon as well.

If you are interested in being on the list for the next round of videos, please reach out to Tara Grell at UNO at tgrell@unomaha.edu or 402-554-5963.
